The Founding of Scouts
Lord Baden-Powell founded Boy Scouts in the United Kingdom in 1908. He publishes a book, known as Scouting For Boys (1908). He came up with the ideas of patrols and youth leaders. Some skills taught included knot-tying, first aid, and mapping.


A Cold Night In London
During one cold night in London, a famous American entrepreneur, named William D. Boyce got lost. He found a scout and the scout helped Boyce reach his destination. The boy was extremely polite and asked nothing in return. He claimed it was his duty. This impressed Boyce and gave him an idea.
Scouting In America
Boyce liked the idea of scouting and decided to create something similar in the US. Boy scouts was founded officially on February 8, 1910. He also created another program, the “Lone Scouts,” which later merged with the Boy Scouts.



History Of Troop 110
The troop was founded in the year of 1985 after being charted to Saint Anne’s Church. The first eagle scout of the troop passed in 1988. As of 2022, there were 74 eagle scouts in total. Although the troop started in 1985, the troop was registered as Troop 102 with 5 scouts. Wayne Barnes was our first scoutmaster, who unfortunately passed away in January of 2018. Unit 177 later merged with us in 1989.
